BI-QEM OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF PRODUCTS FOR THE FRICTION MATERIALS INDUSTRY.

HERE ARE OUR PRODUCTS FAMILIES:

Resins

PF RESIN

PF Resin is produced both as a Liquid Resols and as a Powder Novolac.

Liquid resols are widely used in most of the segments. The resoles contains reactive groups and are self curing. The resols have limited shelf life and are sensitive to higher tempertures because of the reactive groups.

Powder novolacs contains no reactive groups so it require external cross linking agents, typically hexamethylentetramine (hexamine).
All applications benefiting from the hardness, and heat and chemical resistance properties afforded phenolic resins include abrasive grinding wheels, friction linings, refractory products, and other molded parts used in high temperature or aggressive environments.

UF RESIN

polymerisation of urea and formaldehyde. This resin is commonly used as a glue in particle boards, coated abrasives and glue for various purposes.

MF RESINS

MF Resin is produced both as Liquid and Powder.
MF Resin is a polymerisation of melamine and formaldehyde.
This resin is widely used for paper impregnation in decorative laminates or textiles. The MF resin provides transparency, high temperature and scratch resistance.

Amino molding compound

BI-QEM is the leader in manufacturing thermoset urea, melamine moulding compounds, with five manufacturing locations and sales offices worldwide.

Alqemite

Alqemite molding compounds are available in an unlimited range of colors.
Produced from Urea-formaldehyde resin and highly refined alpha-cellulose, Alqemite moulding compounds create scratch-resistant lustrous mouldings that are highly resistant to detergents, oils and greases.

As compared to thermoplastics, urea moulding compounds exhibit:

  • Significantly better surface hardness
  • Self-extinguishing flame-resistant characteristics that will not support flame or melt
  • Environmentally friendly raw material components that do not contain Halogens, flame-retardant chemicals or organic solvents
  • Superior chemical resistance
  • Excellent electrical properties, including current tracking and arc quenching
  • Availability of antibacterial treated Alqemite

Alqemite molding compounds are perfect for a wide range of household and commercial products, especially when color, feel and cosmetic appearance, along with the durability necessary for everyday handling, are crucial. Some applications well-suited for Alqemite include:

  • Electrical wiring devices
  • Buttons
  • Circuit protection devices
  • Appliance hardware
  • Sanitary ware
  • Small housings
  • Cosmetic closures
  • Game accessories

Alqemite Plus

Compared to thermoplastics, melamine moulding compounds exhibit:

  • Superior surface hardness that cannot be duplicated by thermoplastic materials
  • Superior heat resistance exceeding 99°C with UL continuous use index of 130°C
  • Environmentally friendly raw material components that do not contain Halogens, flame-retardant chemicals or organic solvents
  • Superior chemical resistance
  • Excellent scratch resistance that cannot be duplicated by engineered thermoplastic materials
  • Unparalleled UV stability and color retention

Alqemite Plus is particularly well-suited for moulding food contact products, including quality dinnerware for domestic and commercial food service. Alqemite Plus molded articles are specifically approved for food contact. Additional applications include Serving Trays, Buttons, Ashtrays, Pharmaceutical Closures, Wiring Devices, Cutlery and Kitchen utensil handles.

Adding decorative overlays during the moulding cycle can enhance the appearance of the molded articles.

Alqemite Plus compounds are suitable for both compression and injection moulding and are available in fine powder and granular forms (dry granulation process)
